Back home:

Well, I’m back in Slavutich all by myself…yes, I’m having a little pity party; but it’s not easy being without your family around.  Of course it’s worth it for the girls to reconnect with friends and for grandparents to hug and kiss their grandchildren a little longer.  Life alone has some advantages, I get to pick whatever I want to eat (actually not eat….I’m trying to lose pounds) and I don’t have to make the bed (not that I have to do when Nichole is home…but it’s the point of it).  Thankfully I have a good friend (and his family) to help take care of me as I’m getting back into the swing of shopping, cooking and adjusting my internal clock.  Slavutich is home sweet home and I welcome all the smiling friends I have made here.  Although I miss my family and long time friends in America, I am glad to be home with my new friends in Slavutich.  I just think how awesome it is that I have two places that I can truly call home….but I really can’t wait for my family to join me.

Back in the USA!

Oh how nice it is to be back home in the Tri-Cities!  We had an uneventful flight (just the way you want them) a quick overnight stop in Amsterdam to help break up the trip (a great city to explore, but be careful about the side of street you walk on...).  Our home coming was filled with tears of joy and lots of hugs from grandparents, uncle's and aunt's and cousin's!

So far, we've been camping, gone to the ocean, golfed, visited friends, started swim team and that's just in the last two weeks.  Of course I don't think we have been hungry once since we've landed and I'm sure we are gaining at least a pound a day at least but we have a year to lose that right =)

Life has been amazingly busy and the time is just flying by, but it has been a sweet home coming!
