We recently found out about the local ice skating rink here in Slavutich; so I decided to check it out with the girls and see if we could get on the ice. The rink is a flooded basketball court in which they put up some walls around the rink. The outcome really isn’t too bad, but the ice is horrible there’s no zamboni and the snow on the ice makes it very slow (good for me). Anyway, once we figure out how to rent our skates and pay for our time on the ice we get laced up and out on the ice. The other skaters are friendly and there’s not a whole lot of “order” to how all of us are out there skating, some are using hockey sticks, some going counter clockwise and some going clockwise around the rink, but we have a great time trying a new adventure. Of course once we got back home, it was hot chocolate and cookies all around....remember it's -5F outside...brrr
