Wicklow Mountains

Breathtaking scenery, ancient ruins and a little wedding present were all part of this little tour, we were able to walk through an old sanctuary where people could find reprieve from enemies (for up to 90 days)…well, except for the Vikings they just climbed the walls and did their Viking thing.

We then walked through the valley along glacier lakes and complete stillness (except for the girls running everywhere and talking to us a million words a minute with every find).  We then wandered up to Lough Tay and were able to view the Guinness Estate from the safety of the sheer cliffs into the valley.

The lake is black from the acidic peat, bogs and acts like a mirror…we were told that the brown sand was brought in special.  The immense beauty of these areas is beyond describable.
